The ever-changing environment keeps me motivated and on my toes. My passion is cutting and colouring short to medium length hair. Total restyles and transformations are my specialty. I love looking after women of all ages. I aim to offer exceptional services in a relaxed and fun environment and for my clients to walk out the door looking and feeling fabulous.

I’m pretty much the girl Friday of the team. You’ll find me mainly at reception but I also provide support to Michelle in the overall management of the salon and the team. You know, that person that works to ensure the day to day business runs smoothly. I’m also here to address any concerns or enquiries that clients may have. Hi, I’m Gemma! I have been in the business of hair for 40 + years and trained in all aspects of hairdressing. Recently I have refound my love of men’s cutting and styling with the increased popularity of more classical looks and barbering. I tend to work more with shorter hair and I am also a master at perming, Most of my career has been spent in the central city including owning my salon. I worked for Surreal for 15 Years some time ago and feel honored to be back on the Surreal team bringing a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience. 29+ years of hairdressing has taught me that listening, listening, listening is the key to giving a client the hair that they want, and working with a great team of highly trained colourists gives me the ability to give my clients the hair they truly deserve while freeing me up to focus on the cut from sharp classic designs to more textured, contemporary designs. I love cutting curls and have many male as well as female clients. No client is too old or too young to deserve a great haircut.

I have over 40 years of knowledge with hair & I am as passionate now as I was when I started. I love people and making my clients look and feel fabulous. I specialise in creating beautifully shaped, textured shorter hair. I love to add in colour enhancing both body and style. I will be honest with you in achieving a look that is going to compliment you and provide you with the tools needed to care for your hair at home. I have been working in the hairdressing industry for over 30 years. I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Surreal team with an ongoing commitment to training and learning. For me communication is vital in the relationship between the stylist and their client, establishing what the clients want from their service. I am passionate about all aspects of hairdressing including colour work, however, my specialty is curly hair and my colleagues often refer to me as the “curl queen”. I’ve been part of the Surreal team for over 6 years and love working with such a passionate, professional, and experienced team. I am a qualified hair stylist, balayage tech and colour correction specialist. There is no job too big or too small for me to meet your colour requirements – blonde, brunette, rainbow, balayage.
